New growths emerge in spring and is produced quickly, this tall growing species to 3' produces an inflorescence 18" tall and emerges from the epical portion of the stem in summer, the lower buds open first and individual flowers remain in full bloom for a week or two. As other buds open successively, bulbils are produced in abundance, drop off and naturalize. Flowers are yellow with a chocolate brown spotting before they fully open. Fantastic species, native to Eastern Himalayas and naturalize in cool, humus soil.
